VEGETABLES: Local Harvest CSA offers over one hundred fifty arieties of more than forty types of organic vegetables. Almost all vegetables are harvested the same day as delivery. Produce includes: spinach, lettuce, carrots, green and filet beans, snow and snap peas, garlic, tomatoes, potatoes, summer and winter squash, beets, salad turnips, bell and hot peppers, broccoli, cabbage,cucumbers, edamame, Swiss chard, collards, kale, Asian greens, Chinese cabbage, red and yellow onions, sweet corn, eggplant and yearly “trial” vegetables. Each week during the 20-week growing season members receive a box of fresh, handpicked produce.

BREAD & EGGS: Each week for 20 weeks members receive one dozen eggs and a loaf of French Country bread. The brown eggs come from free-range chickens fed grains free of additives. Simone (Plain & Simple) prepares her bread by hand using natural leavening and organic flour and bakes her artisan loaves in a wood-fired oven. Occasionally, other breads, such as a Fougasse (the provencal flatbread) and Baguette are offered. For dozen eggs only with the large or small Bread & Egg share deduct $15.

FLOWERS: Simone sells you bouquets of fresh cut flowers,not formal arrangements like you would expect from a florist. You will receive one bouquet per week – Simone’s choice of what is most vivid and compatible. At the time of your choice, you will also receive an additional bouquet for a special occasion. Simone’s flowers are grown entirely without the use of any herbicides or pesticides.

We view our members as more than consumers: Local Harvest CSA members are participants in a socially and environmentally responsible community. We believe that Local Harvest CSA membership should represent our community’s diversity, and as such, participation should not be limited by financial constraints.
Payment Options: 1. Payment in full with sign-up form. 2. Send $50 with sign-up form, and pay of the remaining amount in each of April, May, June and July. 3. Working share arrangement. Contact Susan. 4. Local Foods Connection is a charitable organization that enrolls families in local CSAs. Contact Laura Dowd at (319) 338-2010. 5. Failing all other options, talk with Susan and work something out.
